Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first released songs online in the year 2012. Her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the internet including her independently launched single Bound. On 21st of July 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her submit her tracks in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year, as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. On December 28, 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had been contracted by Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed with Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. The 21st of October, 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video came out on the 5th. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two singles more were released on the 11th of November with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single as a way to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. This track, which was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than 3 million times in the first 7 days. In December of 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
